| What is Coaching? The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as: "Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Professional coaches provide an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Coaches help people improve their performances and enhance the quality of their lives. Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has." |

How do I get started? Call or email me for a complimentary session. We can explore if coaching is for you. If we decide we work well together we can set up an initial session which will run from 60 to 90 minutes. This first session will be detailed so I can get to know you, your values and what it is that you want to achieve. |

What happens in a session? Sessions are conducted via phone and are 45 minutes long. In each meeting the client chooses the focus of the conversation, while I listen and contribute observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves you into action. The results-oriented coaching process accelerates your progress by creating greater focus and awareness of your choices. You are assited in moving from where you are today to what you are willing to do to reach your desired tomorrow. |

Is coaching like therapy? In coaching we help the client move forward by agreeing on the “How.” The focus is always on taking the client from where they are to where they want to be. Therapy is usually focused on talking about and examining the “Why” of past events. Coaching does not deal with mental illness. The one thing that is true for both relationships is that confidentiality is maintained between the coach and client. |

How long do I need coaching? Clients choose to be coached for as long as they like. However a minimum of a 3 month commitment is suggested for greatest results. |
