How many people think it is acceptable that you spend the greater part of your day at a job that is anywhere on the spectrum from not fulfilling and kind of annoying to something that they hate doing?

When did it become the “norm” to not like your job? To not feel like you were using your gifts and talents? That the weekends were the best part on your week?

I am here today to invite you to wake up from your work coma and reclaim your life! You are allowed to enjoy your work life, feel on purpose, use your unique gifts and feel fulfilled by what you contribute in the work place.

The only person in the way of your pursuit is you. Don’t get me wrong the stories we tell ourselves are very compelling. We use the excuse of not having enough time to make a change to not having enough money to I just don’t want to deal with that right now. And lots of other strategically placed fears that appear to be very real. I have to get through this xyz project first.

We stop ourselves consciously and unconsciously with these blocks as we accept that our natural state is to not be content in the workplace.

Time is passing by. Each moment you spend asleep at the wheel of your career it is a moment you can not get back. Do you really want to get to 65 and say “Yep well ain’t life grand, I spent the better part of my time at a job I did not like.” And not to bring up the fact that the rest of the world does not get to enjoy the fruits of you doing what you love and what you were meant to do on our planet this time round.

I am not saying it is going to be a bed of cupcakes. But meeting daily challenges in the pursuit of your passion will be far more rewarding than any paycheck. To wake up with energy because you do what you love on a daily basis is achievable and I believe you can make good money doing it!

It is okay if you want to stay asleep. It is very safe and cozy. I get it. I did it.

But if you do want to wake up and smell the cappuccino you are allowed.

So whats it going to be hit the snooze button for another Monday or start creating the life you actually desire today?

Enjoy

Julie-Anne

Do jump out of bed on a Monday morning excited about the day ahead?

And just can’t wait to get to work?

Wouldn’t that be just wonderful if the way you chose to spend the majority of your time was actually the way you earned a living?

Well I think so and now being on the other side of this coin myself and helping many others transition to their dream job I know it is possible. I really don’t know why I stayed in so many energy draining situations. Yes I do, fear mostly. But then again all of my experiences did add up to who I am today and have given me this wonderful life.

I had many jobs that I absolutely hated. As Sunday afternoon came around so did my dread for Monday morning. Don’t get me wrong I had some pretty good jobs and was successful at many of them but I just did not feel fulfilled. I was always looking to see how I could take as much time off as possible. Using all of my sick days and vacation days virtually as soon as they were accrued.

I knew that there was something I was meant to be doing. I just had no idea what it was. And with the greater part of my day spent at work I wanted to earn my living by doing what I love.

I envied people who knew what they wanted to be when they grew up. Or could easily identify their passion. Even if they were not pursuing their passion, to me at least they knew what it was. In my mind they were so far ahead of the game. I could not understand how they could not be pursuing their purpose. I felt one step behind and really never fully present as I just wanted to know what my role in the world was.

I did everything trying to figure out my purpose on the planet and how that translated into a career for myself. Unfortunately most of the time I was focusing on job titles instead of what I actually enjoyed doing.

Eventually I was encouraged to observe how I naturally spent my time. For me I knew I loved asking questions, being creative, inspiring and empowering people and I wanted to have the potential for unlimited income whilst being able to dictate my own schedule. I enjoyed writing, entertaining and also making people laugh.

I was given a writing assignment by a friend. I was to answer the two following questions without judgment or thought. Just let whatever pops into my head come out on the page.

What brings me joy?

How does the universe want me to be of service in the world when it comes to work?

I got up every morning and wrote the answer to those questions. Free flow writing for 3 days. On the third day Life Coach appeared on the page. I had no idea what that was or what they did at all. But after pursuing this intuitive thought I found that everything I wanted out of a career aligned with that of a Life Coach.

If you are not fulfilled by your work life and want to earn your living by doing what you love. I invite you today to write down what it is that you really want to do. If you had all the money in the world how would you spend your time?

Then take one small action towards that dream today. It could be as simple as researching others who are doing what you want to, confiding in a friend your real passion or simple saying okay universe/spirit/god if this is what you want me to do SHOW ME A SIGN!

Enjoy
Julie-Anne
