As a coach of creative people and entrepreneurs I have many clients who are pursuing their dream of getting paid to do what they love.

In my experience one of the biggest obstacles to peoples creative success is thinking that they, all on their own are responsible for their creativity. That they somehow are solely accountable for the gifts and talents they have been given. This way of thinking can be overwhelming and effectively paralyzing for many artists.

It is my belief that if we view ourselves as the means by which the universe works through us. Then it takes our ego and the “Its all about us” out of the equation. Freeing us up to both pursue and tap into our greatest source for our creative expression.

As an actor you allow emotions to flow through you so that you allow others to connect to theirs. A singer brings joy to all those who hear her. A writer connects to their own greatness so that others may also learn and enjoy more. A manager partners with clients to help them reach the audience that needs them. And so on.

So if you are pursuing your creative dream today. Try remembering it is actually not all about you. It is about allowing the universe to work through you so that you can serve the people that need to hear, see and feel what you create.

Enjoy
Julie-Anne

When did it stop being okay to express ourselves and play?

Growing up I did not think of myself as creative.
I was more of the sports type.
Basketball. Netball. Football. Athletics.

But the truth is I have always been very creative I just did not know it. I thought that a creative person was only someone who did an amazing painting or who wrote a fabulous book.

For me now being creative is more about an approach to life than it is the strict manifestation of an art piece.

People who come up with new cell phones, recipes, video games, communication techniques or a new paper quality are all examples of being creative.

Taping into your creativity is fun, exciting and an adventure that makes you feel alive and a part of life. As children we did this very naturally using our imagination and coming up with all sorts of games and ideas. Playing.

We are all creative. It is not about us. It is a way for the universe to come through us.

My life today is all about being creative.
From the moment I get up I am actively creating my life.
I write, speak, cook, shop, coach, walk etc.

In what ways would you like to be more creative in your life today?

In what way will you let yourself be creative today?

Go on. Be bold. Have fun. Play.

Enjoy your creating today.

Julie-Anne
